I AM EMPLOYED AGAIN!!!!! Â Well….technically I am happily employed at my Cafe but as far as a career, I think I may have found my next adventure.
I found this company as I was bored out of my mind, cruising Craigslist, during my temp job at the event planning company. Â I don’t actually feel bad about getting paid to look for a job as I tried to keep as busy I could. Â On this particular day I blanketed the web with my resume. Â This position stood out to me as the company is called cake factory……hmmmm…..I do love cake! Â Plus in the description they said a key word….must be fun. Â So between cake and fun, I checked out the website…..which has some of the most fantastic photo shots I have ever seen and a list of clients that is quite impressive.
They represent 5 photographers and plan on staying a small representation company, possibly adding one or two more. Â They specialize in still life, advertising shots and have offices in both New York and LONDON!!!!! Â YES!!!!!!!!
I sent my resume in March….heard from them in April….interviewd in April….May….June and had my final lunch date yesterday. Â It was a lovely day of white wine and yummy food at one of my new favorite restaurants, GEMMA, at the Bowery Hotel. Â After the lunch date they emailed me and offered the position! Â Probably one of my happiest moments in the city. Â I am going to be a the personal assistant/junior rep to the owners (a husband and wife team). Â In the beginning it is a trial, but as is everything to make sure it is a fit. Â I have no doubt that this will become full-time very quickly and the salary is not bad. Â There is no limit to the amount of growth that can come with this position and company.
Not only is the job situation getting settled, but it looks as though my living space is going to be more settled!!!  My sublet is going to be able to become mine in September.  It feels amazing to know that I don’t have to move.  Truly though, I am in love with my apartment.  The perfect happy place in NYC.
